State "recipes" for turning lemons into lemonade
Since 1993 all 52 states
provide consumers recourse under State "Lemon Law" statues.
Many of the laws provide for refund or replacement when:
- A substantial defect cannot be fixed in 4 tries
- A safety defect cannot be fixed within 2 tries
- The auto is out of service for 30
days, within the first 12-18,000 miles/12-24
months
Some States provide a printable guide
to their lemon law for example, California's Lemon-Aid.
However, not all states provide
booklets and because each state implements the law
differently, it is important to check your state's lemon law
as administered by the State Attorney General.
Lemon automobiles have fostered a
diverse range of consumer services to help resolve and
correct problems. We have assembled resources to some we
think you might find helpful.
If you know of a valuable consumer service that would benefit others, please contact our Editor about including the resource and/or link to our site.

not able to monitor any service provider and can not
provide any guaranties. Please use these, or any service, with
